Lynne Rolfe Counselling Services
Safe, compassionate environment for the promotion of wellbeing
Counselling can assist individuals, couples and families
to improve their relationships.
Lynne Rolfe Counselling
offers Family and Relationship Counselling as well as a
range of specialist counselling services. My main counselling services are face-to-face (within south-eastern
metropolitan Melbourne), but I also offer telephone counselling for people in
rural and remote areas of Australia.
Family and Relationship Counselling
Counselling can help a couple to:
- understand the relationship they have
- discover why they chose each other in the first
place
- find out what they wanted from their relationship
and from each other
- understand how they contributed to whatever their
relationship has become
- discuss what they feel about each other now
- discuss what they are prepared to do to make it
work.
Counsellors do not make judgements on who is right or
wrong, nor do they tell clients what to do.
Counselling for Separating/Divorcing Couples
Counselling programs also help people who are separating
and/or getting divorced, deal with their grief and anger and
to let go, so that they can move on with a new sense of
purpose. This means discussing:
- how relationships change
- how to manage grief
- what is the real value of anger
- what real acceptance is and what it enables us to
receive
- discover a pathway for your separation
- learning to be single
- being able to consider moving on onto a new
relationship.
Counselling and working through the problems of
separation with someone who has no involvement or investment
in the outcome can help people get through this difficult
time. As a result, many people move on with their lives to
live happy, fulfilled lives after a relationship breakdown.
Counselling Procedures
Normally counselling starts through an evaluation
process. A number of decisions need to be made by both you,
as the client, and me as counsellor. I will need to decide
if I am able to provide you with best possible service to
meet your requirements and you have to decide if you are
comfortable with me. We both need to agree on your goals for
counselling and how best to achieve them.
After an initial evaluation, and should you choose to
continue, I will be able to offer my initial impression of
what counselling will involve. Counselling generally
involves commitment and it is your right to choose your
counsellor carefully. If you have any doubts about me as
your counsellor I will be happy to discuss these openly with
you and, if necessary, help you to make an appointment
elsewhere.
If you choose to continue I will normally schedule weekly
one hour sessions with you though at a mutually agreeable
time. The number of counselling sessions required will be
dependent upon your situation but this can be discussed as
part of the initial plan which is reviewed with you after
evaluation.
